PlusNet goes *seriously* quick
A colleague of mine who also uses PlusNet as his ISP noticed this morning that a couple of MP3s he was downloading seemed to arrive much more quickly than normal, so he did a speed test on his connection using the ISP's speed test tool.
The result was a MASSIVE 4915.2 kbps!
It looks like the implementation of faster connections has started!
Unfortunately, my connection speed is still a meagre 957.8 kbps, but I'm looking forward to the speed update.

I once had my Blueyonder start downloading at 2Mb/sec only last for about 10 mins before it went back to normal. Just shows you what the technology is capable of.

The capability is massive - I used to do some contract work for Nortel and they had a lab setup with sdsl running faster than a 100Meg Lan. That was a couple of years ago. Only reason it hasn't been widely implemented was that the modem/router required to make it work cost about 40k (then... probably about 15p now )
