Default Best graphics card available?

What's the best graphics card money can buy at the minute? It HAS to be an ATI by the way.....

A 'Radeon X800XT Platinum' is currently the most expensive - currently go for around 400 big ones in PCI-E form...

I'd imagine that it's also the best.....

You can still get an X800XT, just not the Platinum version.....

And you'll save yourself around 30-40 quid - still not exactly cheap!


Edited to add : I think the only difference between a standard and Platinum X800XT is the clock speeds (500Mhz vs 520Mhz IIRC)

Actually an X850 XT PE is the fastest.

If you don't want to throw silly money at a cutting-edge card, the X600GT is a nice bit of kit for the dosh.

...the geforce 6800GT?

We have two alienware pc's at work, one with the geforce and one with the Radeon. The geforce wins on fps every time

SLi... SLi... why have one GPU when you can have TWO. But of course that means nVidia, what a shame....

I've been down the Nvidia route before and vowed never to make that mistake again....i've had Ati for years now and never had any issues....

funny bust most people would say the same thing but the other way round.
Certainly Ati have had a history of driver problems a few years ago

Anyhow i have Ati but would happily choose nvidia
