Burning CD's, how do I stop WMP 10 putting a silent gap between mixed tracks?
I'm using Windows Media Player 10 and when I burn a mixed CD I'm getting a silent gap between each tune which is really annoying. How do I stop it from doing it? I know it's a setting somewhere but I can't find it...

If you are playing a CD that was burned by using Windows Media Player, slight gaps are automatically added between tracks. If you are using Windows Media Player 9 Series and you want to eliminate the gaps, you can install the Nero Fast CD-Burning Plug-In. Note that a version of this plug-in for Windows Media Player 10 is not available yet. If you are using Windows Media Player 10, you may need to use another CD-burning software program that eliminates the gaps while burning tracks.

Sorry Sal, I'd recommend not using WMP to burn your CD's and try Nero or something else.

Sal - to be honest WMP is not that great for burning CDs. I know that Nero do a plugin for WMP9 that allows you to remove the 2 second gap, but WMP10 has changed quite a lot, so I wouldn't guarantee that it would work. I know you've got iTunes - that burns OK - or use something like Musicmatch or CDex

Good link - that is the plug in I was talking about. It isn't written for WMP10 so I wouldn't like to say what affect it would have on it. There are loads of alternatives available though.
