If the above does not work click on Settings at top of your AOL browser-Click on A-Z
Then select R-Z and Click on sounds

On the window that appears make sure the Enable AOL sounds such as Welcome Greating & AOL chimes is ticked.

It is certainly not AOL although it beggars belief you have them for an internet provider

Have you no other provider choice?

oh yer i forgot to mention there is also the option of using live help if none of the above work.

type in AOL keyword live help and you will be directed to someone who may be able to help (this is AOL though and chances are they wont have a clue).

When ever i have problems with AOL or my computer i usually go into the Computing chat room, and ask in there. Loads of techies get in there and there are AOL hosts who can also help.

Thumbs up

I have found AOL live help to work quite well for most problems...

Cheers

AOL is an excellent service. I don't understand why people knock it, what do other service providers offer other than email and web access... bugger all!

I was a long time user +6 years, then they decided it was about time I paid for it. I don't use them any more

What else do you need apart from email and web access? Need your **** wiping? It's like giving birth and having 20 people around you telling you what's best and what you should and should not be doing.

Not having AOL is called freedom.

Was that a bit nasty? Good

No not nasty at all. Shows a fair amount of ignorance though. Along with my email and web access I'll take anything else offered for free thank you very much. From NTL I get nothing, not a sausage. AOL provide a team of journalists who prepare content for AOL members, parental controls that are easy to use, security software free of charge, no bandwidth capping, regular online events such as interviews with prominant figures, plus a whole lot more including your so called freedom.

Did you enjoy giving birth on your own? I would have though having someone around to pick up the placenta and clean up the fluids would have been a good idea.

For users without kids (and the ability to use google) I generally do not recommend AOL.

With anyone with kids, the parental control is excellent.
