Default Downloading files from webpage - excel web query issue

Hi

I have a web query set up that downloads files from a website (e.g. a .csv file)

This works, currently, only using mac os9 and by logging into the site with my name/pwd.

However, I need it to work on Mac os X or Windows XP. Neither of which work and the resulting query brings back the page from the wesite asking for username/password.

I've tested the string that I pass to the site by putting it in the address of the browser and the file downloads correctly.

Any solutions out there?

What authentication are you using? a form on a webpage which authenticates against a DB or known un/pwd and authenticates against the servers guest account or a server folder structure where the user needs to authenticate against an account on the server?

If its a web form then does the form have an explicit method? (i.e. POST/GET)

If its a server folder structure then does the account exist and have access to the download folder?

What is the server running O/S and Web Server?
