Question Which DVD-ROM? (note: reader NOT writer ;) )

I'm looking for a cheap DVD reader (less than £20) to compliment my NEC writer.

So far found that the Samsung is a no no (aparrently messes up when used with Nero), and the Sony is also rather dubious

So far found these two which seem to have good write ups:

Benq 16x DVD-Rom
LG 16x DVD-Rom

Anyone have any comments or alternatives that I should look at?

TIA

I can't fault the Samsung DVD-ROMs. The Si-616 is a great piece of kit, if a tad pricey.

LG make good CD drives but their DVD drives leave a lot to be desired.

Benq, Asus & Pioneer all share the same internals and are good machines.

Expect a few quid change from your £20 though!

Any. Its just a reader, cant imagine you will have much problems. Most probs occur with the burners.

I have just spent £19 on an Asus DVD-E616P2 & apart from being very very quiet it has a high speed ATA100 interface where as most DVD-ROM drives are ATA 33/66
