Start-Up Screen Question
Since July I have been farting about on the PC wondering why it was crashing all the time ....... found out that half my RAM Module had gone pop, so I was struggling on 128Mb ... and its a pain!
So, I bought another 256Mb and now have 384Mb and its brilliant!
But, in all my looking at the BIOS and Motherboard Drivers and stuff I have done something that makes the start-up screen sit there for about 30 seconds asking me which operating system I want to use .....
XP, of course!! and a hit of the Enter Key sorts it out ....... but,
1. How can I get it just to go into WindowsXP?
or, failing that,
2. How do I set a time delay like about 5 seconds?
Cheers you clever lot!!
Pete

Hello
It appears that you have installed the operation system twice? Anyway, I'll ignore that bit and answer you second question:
Edit
c:\boot.ini and change the timeout=30 to timeout=5 (or less)
Steve.

Hi Steve
Thanks for that, I re-installed XP in July because the PC started asking for passwords!!
As another issue - I have XPOffice installed but I cannot access it now from the new accounts! its still there on the HD ....... but my accounts can't 'see' it and it will not re-instal off the disc
