Processor Speed difference
Hello
I know this seems like a silly question, but I am going to notice the difference between a Pentium 4 2.8 and 3.0 ?
I originally wanted a 3.0, but there is an offer for a 2.8 Pentium with motherboard for about £90.
I use my computer for games, web stuff, and just bought this graphics card:
http://www.visiontek.com/9200.html
Thanks for your help.
Steve.

For running the internet and office products - no-one could tell the diffrence.
The bottleneck with the system will be the low end 9200 radeon - this is an old card running at 250mhz with 128bit interface.
Even a £109 ati 9800 xt is 412mhz with a 256 bit interface, 730mhz memory etc.
The 9200 will be luck to play at a decent frame rate with everything awitched off on the more popular games - e.g. Doom 3, Far Cry, Half life 2 etc.
The processor really isn't doing that much with these games in comparison to the GPU of the new graphics cards.

Soyo are OK boards, but rare in this country. Don't expect much if you're into overclocking though.
The bad news is that with ATI boards, "SE" means "slow" - it's a stripped-out, slowed down version of the normal 9600, which would have been OK. It will be faster than that 9200 though, but then so would my two-year old Ti4600...
