Default Backing up a large RAID 0 + 1 array set

Just a quick one really. I have built a new personal server and am about to install the 300 GB RAID 0 + 1 system.

Now this is for home so no tape backup systems etc but the information is important (lets say quality content dont come cheap ) and expensive.

Can anyone recommend a way to back it all up safely. I was thinking removable HDD but
a) its even more fragile than tape and
b) I dont want to be powering the server on and off all the time.

The actual amount of data in question at the mo is around 90 GB and the way the RAID is set up ie mirrored sets, brings out the maximum amount to 150 GB.

There aint no way im gonna sit there and put that lot on cdr or even double sided DVD-R !

A VS160 DLT drive?. Thats good for 160GB compressed.

Failing that, you are looking at ultritum drives. 400GB compreseed.

USB2 external HD? - they aren't that fragile (as long as you don't bounce them).

I did a kit job - £120 for a 160gig & case

This works, as does an old cheap PC with large drives. I recommend using RSync or RoboCopy to do your backups though as they only copy over the changes
