Not sure who allple.com is But the minimum I go is 192. Below this, the bass can get distorted.

mp3 is ok, but personally I'd set it to AAC @ 192, am told this will use less disk space on the pod but the quality will be the same if not better.

I've got 4000 odd songs on the pod and was considering converting them all to AAC, but it'll take ages. If I can be bothered I'll reburn all the CD's using AAC, but again that's a nightmare.

If you've only done a few cd's then it might be wise to reimport them.

go have a look at www.ipodlounge.com a very good site for ipod users.

I didn't bother with AAC as I decided MP3 was more portable and if I changed my MP3 player later on, more chances of it being able to play MP3 rather than AAC.
