Default FreeBSD 4.10 questions, esp csvup

Hi peeps,

Im currently looking to set up a new ftp server internally (and to learn about unix admin) and it all seems straight forward.

Problem is when I try and do csvup I get a connetion refused all the time. I have tried csvup1 through 6.freebsd.org and still cant get it to work.

The command im issuing is

csvup -g /etc/csvupfile.

The contents of the csvupfile are:

*default host=csvup6.freebsd.org
*default prefix=/usr
*default release=cvs
*default delete use-rel-suffix
*default tag=,
src all

Also where do you put the jobs you wish to autostart (ie apache and ftpd ? )

Cheers

Stu

Maybe you're not allowed to connect, try cvsup.uk.freebsd.org. You put your startup scripts in /usr/local/etc/rc.d.

Ok I'm not into this .....but don't you mean cvsupfile and not csvupfile

like this

*default host=cvsup6.freebsd.org
*default base=/usr/local/etc/cvsup
*default prefix=/usr

Cheers Nick
