Unhappy Help - Toshiba Laptop Brightness Setting

Please help before I go blind !! I have an old(ish) Toshiba Satellite 4090CDS which I haven't used for a while. Having fired it up tonight I need to change the display settings for brightness and contrast to tone it down a bit as the white is so bright I need sunglasses to use it.

The problem is I can't find / remember how to do it. I have a Dell at work and on the that the settings are controlled off the keyboard using the Fn key, but on the Toshiba this facility isn't there. I can't beleive they are factory preset but have just run out of brainpower on how to change the settings.

Any advice (or a copy of the manual) gratefully received.

Thanks

Nick

Don't think so - well I just had a look and couldn't see how to anyway. Thanks for the fast reply though.

Red face

Oops - very nearly a muppet alert there as having looked again I have found the brightness rotary switch on the side of the screen case !!

Anyway that has cured 90% of the problem but can I now adjust the contrast anywhere? - as the brightness control on the lid seems very crude?

Cheers

Nick
