I am outside in an area where a column like statue has just colapsed. Barney stands nearby and dog is bashing on the metal wall to no avail.

I seem to be trapped.

I've tried using crates to climb on all sorts of things but it just blocks me from all ways out that I can see.

Anybody remember/got to/done this bit?

Go down to where the dog is and he'll lift up the wall, you drop down into the floor below the bit he just lifted up - then it gets interesting

Thanks jfrf, that site is great but none of the walkthrougs yet seem to have got to the bit I am stuck on.

And Scoobyjawa, I have loitered near dog already and he just keeps bashing the wall, are you thinking of the much earlier bit where he lifts the barrier to let you into ravenhome or whatever it is called. I suspect I am at least 3/4 of the way through the game. Can't try this now as I am at work anyway.

Scoobyjawa is correct. The 'dog' should lift up a section of the wall.
Barney should say to you to jump down.

damn - havent got that far yet! getting hosed down by 3 gunships in nova prospekt courtyard at the moment and cant find a way out.........

still, mustn't grumble.....

Yep, as Neanderthal said, dog should lift up the wall and you drop down. This is the bit where you get into the citadel. About 4/5 through the game....

On mine Barney said about Dog charging through the area, after I'd polished all the combine off, I ran up to dog and he started lifting the wall..........
