Question Home networking

does home networking work with WinME?

I have 2 machines on XP which work OK - but I am struggling to get the wireless network card to connect on my older machine with WinME (256 MB DDR RAm & Duron 1200 chip)...

Cheers

Hello

I used to have WinME on one of my machines working with my wireless router. What problem are you having?

Initially the wireless connection would appear OK but I could not find the network. Then after rebooting the computer it would sometimes say that the Netgear WG111 is not functioning correctly and that I should reinstall the software.

I have deleted and reinstalled the software but the same cycle occurs...

I did notice though that all the settings seem to be in place though so it was obviously not completely deleted.

The other thing was that when I first tried this I was using an AMD 350 K2 3D chip which had problems and never worked, I have since updated the mobo & chip to a 1200 Duron hoping this would get past whatever the blockage was.

I am having other problems with the machine freezing and am planning to wipe the operating system drive and re-install fresh.

Cheers

Mick
