Default Music editor programs

Hello

I have been using the same version of Cooledit 2000 for 4 years now. Are there any new products I can spend my money on that will allow me to cut and paste waveforms, and muck about with them ? I imagine the WAV, MPŁ codecs in the version i am using have been refined alot since I bought Cooledit 2000 !!!

you'd be looking at things like Sound Forge 7, or Steinberg's Nuendo.......

TBH, Cool Edit's still pretty good - not that much has changed in the last for years (for PC )

Yep as Dan says not much other than Sound Forge or Cool Edit really if you want to get down and dirty with WAV files, if you want to beat splicing and slicing you can look at something like Recycle, PhatmatiK pro, zero-x seamless looper theres quite a few out there but for applying filtering and EQ cool edit is still a great tool.

Dave also head on over to the computer music forums at www.computermusic.co.uk and ask the same question lots of home muso's over there.

P.S. Dan thanks for the studio build pics you sent me a while ago, mine has just started now! got all the electrics wired in, just gotta get the batons, insulation and plaster boarding done and away I go!

I still use Sound Forge, or there are always the superb array of Cakewalk products.
