IE keeps crashing since XP2 update

IE keeps crashing since XP2 update
Since my pc automatically recieved and installed service pack 2 for XP Internet Explorer usually crashes when I open a new window. IE opens then stalls for a moment then I get a window up that says the IE has experienced a problem and will have to close, it then sends an error report. When I reopen IE it is fine 
I have no idea why it's doing this but it's bloody annoying, any suggestions?

Mine was fine after SP2. Personally I'd run Adaware with the latest update first to check your system was reasonably clean, as well as your favourite anti-virus SW. It's amzing what can *appear* on your hard drive if you have BB ....
(Actually, my bruv has a modem only and adaware found 750 *critical* objects - his anti-v SW worked once we had zapped those ....)

I have fully updated versions of Adaware, Spybot, Spy Sweeper, McAfee, Sygate etc etc which all get run at least once a week and every week since this machine was new around five months ago. This problem has only occured since the last Windows automatic update. I'm completely baffled by it.
