I must admit Halo 2 isn't all that hard. I've only played it once (albeit for a 3hr stint) and I'm pretty far into the levels. Personally, I don't see what all the hype was about.

Don't assume I'm not on the hardest setting

And I don't spend my life playing computer games

Doesn't look any better than Halo IMHO.

they got an Xbox on the rig?

My Brother's obsessed with Halo 2 online. Have you tried it with up to 8 players. He kept getting reports that the bandwidth was sufficient (we have a BY 1.5Mbps pipe)?

was playing online with 16 with only a little bit of lag caused by guests on two Boxes. It selects the fastest connection in the lobby to host the game from wich I think is a step forward.

Halo2 is much better than the first, the levels are grander and theres been some nice tweaks. However, I need to split myself in seven! Halo2, NFSU2, Doom3, Unreal2, Call of Duty, PGR2 (hangs head in shame its still not done) etc all still to finish. And now.....

(thread back on subject )

Half Life 2 Which landed on my matt this morning from Gameplay, shame I then had to go in to work - I sooooo felt like phoning in sick, its gonna be a long wait until tonight, then I'm stuck in front of the PC

Picked up my copy today - you don't get a lot in the retail pack, the DVDROM and a single sheet with install instructions.

I can't log in either.

This really sucks

If they are going to insist that you log in each time you want to play they should have the infrastructure to support the load!!!

I am really ****ing anoyed.

I'd like to go round their place shove the case up their $%*$£%^^ a***s right now

!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm still waiting to get in.

and you know what really gets on my t1ts about this?

This is presumably all about protecting their IP (or they are now going to spam me now I had to give the ****ers my e-mail address) which is fair enough.

But the point is, that in a few weeks, those cunning Russians/Ukrainians will have cracked the game and those lucky blighters will be able to play the game without having to put up with any of this ****!!

FFS what were they thinking!

I'm going to Ukraine in a coupe of weeks and will let you know how much it costs where I get back

A quick look at http://www.forumplanet.com/planethal...m.asp?fid=6549 tells the whole story......it would also seem that all of the European and Australian Steam Servers are currently down......glad I didn't get my copy today after all as expected....

Finally got to sign in after 20 mins. You still have to wait for the preloaded files to be unlocked, which seems to take ages.
Screenshots attached.

have to say those screenies look VERY impressive....how does the game play at those res?

I've got:

XP3200 Barton
1024MB DDR 400
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo
2 x 10000RPM SATA Drives
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb

I guess it will run pretty good on this spec?
