Default Gantt Charts

Has anyone here used any software other than Microsoft Project to produce and Gantt chart??

Need to do one for university but I dont want to go out and buy MS project for one piece of coursework!!

Any ideas??

Done simple ones on excel in work coz the theory is straight forward enough - map the project plan in excel (dates across the top, milestones down the left and fill/colour the relevant fields/paths... I know it wont look too fancy but it does serve a purpose. Loads of folk at my place dont have MS project so Ive had to use the method before many a time .

Primavera p3 or suretrac you can get a unlimited time demo but limited to 60 activities, contact this company www.forgetrack.co.uk and ask them to send you demo copy

had the same problem at work a couple of years back with staff wanting MSProject to present simple GANTTcharts - found a bit of freeware/shareware(?) that converts an Excel s/sheet (task / start date ..end date) into GANTT format; but the name eludes me. Try a search on TUCOWS, it might still be around

Ask your Uni IT people, they may have a licensing agreement that allows free software to students. Failing that I think you can buy Project very cheap under the academic licensing scheme.
