Default Do Freeview boxes work with NTL cable?

Got the chance of a freebie Freeview box. I've been told it won't work with NTL cable, is this correct?

Yep, the cable decoder is completely different - all a freeview box will do is pick up freeview channels via it's internal digital tuner.

If you've got NTL cable, don't you get all the freeview channels anyway?

Maybe NTL digital does, but I'm still in the dark ages of NTL analogue (didn't want to upgrade as meant cannot watch one channel whilst recording another, which I can with analogue)

If you're in a freeview area and have a roof antenna you should get them.
