Home network printer
I'm having some difficulties stetting up my printer via a print server, connected to my router
Set up:
Netgear DG834G router
Netgear USB print server
Lexmark X5150
On following the Netgear instructions, the windows would NOT recognise that the printr was on the network....
I loaded the 'Lexmark software' on the pc, as if it were gonna connect via USB.
The Netgear software then recognised the printer and the wizard completed sucessfully....
However, the amount of time between me selecting something to print and it actually being printed is unknown...
The print takes an hour or more to come off.....
It is not 'instant' or within a few seconds'.......
Any suggestions would be greatly received!!
Cheers
Phil
ps it says the X5150 can be networked.........

Install IP printing should help IIRC
add new printer/ select local (untick auto detect)/click next/select create new port/change from local port to standard tcp/ip / click on next until prompted for IP address, put in ip of printer / next, next until your prompted for drivers , use your lexy cd
never done this myself with a usb print server on router, but should act the same
