For some reason everytime I open up explorer, an extra page opens, and I don't know why.
The pages are generally blank with really long addresses.
I have run AdAware and Norton AntiVirus, and have AdWatch running - but still happening.
Any ideas?

Download a copy of Hijack this! available from - http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html
You need to have an idea of what files etc are launched on bootup though as this app generates a list of things that startup when you boot your os
Good luck

Do you download any music or freebee stuff ?
Have a look in task manager, before opening IE, then after you open IE , see if any executables running that werent previously there (except IE of course).
Chances are some installer has been dumped on your c drive.
Could be anywhere, usually one of prog files, winnt, system32.
My guess is Ad-aware doesnt see them as its not designed to look for them.
The usual fight over, "you design a solution and we'll try summat else".
If you do some digging, you will eventually find them. Its a real pain in the ****.
Worse than virus's IMO, takes you far longer to get rid of the ****.
Spent 2 1/2 hrs on one guys laptop....woulda been quicker (just) to rebuild it.

When I had some Adware, I found it by opening a new Word doc, and pressing Paste (Ctrl-V) rather than copy as I'd intended. Though I had nothing in the clipboard, it pasted a great long address, which was the home of the adware. Just a thought.

Can't get thatHijack this link off that site unfortunately.
I have looked at the processes running and can't identify any new ones - just thought- will try ProcWatch on AdAware.
Bugging me now
