My mate is having a problem getting BT Broaband running on his WinXP laptop.

BT have given him a 105 USB Voyager

During instalation of the CD, a windows dialogue alert pops up saying can't find registry value

Anyone seen this before ? Tried hunting around their website but its useless.

Tried downloading a separate voyager driver from the site, but I get the same alert box when I attempt to install that.

 

NB: The specific error message is:

ERROR
Can't get registry vlaue:
key=Software\Globespan\Virata\Adsl
value=driverType

 

can't believe NO ONE has seen this!

 

I have seen this after SP2 killed my Desktop ..... it needed a reinstall of XP I'm affraid

 

Its not running SP2 - its only SP1
