camera troubles ..
I sent my camera back to jessops because I thought it had a problem as it stopped uploading pictures, I got my new camera today only to discover it has the same bloody problem.
It's obviously the computer and not the camera.
The problem started after I installed a new hard drive, everything else installed on the new HD works perfectly.
I'm usually pretty handy at fixing gripes with PCs but I'm totally stumped with this one, I've got no idea how to solve the problem ..
Any ideas?? ..

It's hard to describe since I have no clue what the error is.
It used to work fine with my old HD but when I installed the software/driver and try to use it with the new HD it just ***** up
The cameras a kodak DX6440 (doubt thats much use)
It's not a problem with the USB because the camera is recognised as a removable drive in 'My computer'.
Thats some (useless) screen shots, the bottom SS shows that a picture is recognised by the computer being on the camera, but when I click on it to try and view it, (through explorer) the screen just freezes up and I have to press ctrl+alt+del and the software/programs are 'not responding'.
Any help appreciated that stops me throwing this computer down the stairs..

Do you have the Kodak software running - should appear in the task tray (bottom right of your screen)?
Try closing that and trying to copy the picture from the camera to your C: drive.
My Aunt had nothing but grief with her Kodak camera, especially the software.

Does anyone know what programs conflict with digital cameras?
I have no idea .

its W98 SE.
It worked with my last hard drive and doesn't work with my new one.
Leaving my stumped to what the problem is.
It will make me feel better to throw it down a steep set of stairs, this is what I shall do ..

Get a media card reader instead and use your memory card as a flash drive. Ignore the ****ty software that comes with it unless you have a digital SLR with RAW format most of its useless.
Try Googles Picasa instead

Or get a Mac and never worry about it again ... ilife

Camera makers aren't as good at making software as they are at making cameras, by a long way.
So I generally ignore the stuff that comes with the camera, especially for uploading pics.
It might not be the point, but I just take the card out, and using a suitable USB adapter (just a few quid) treat it as a simple external drive and use File Explorer to drag and drop from/to it
