Athlon XP64 Mobo choice?
Gonna get an XP64 3500 but aren't sure whether to get a nForce 3 or Via K8T800 Pro based mobo.
Which is the best to go for??

Asus A8V revision 2 board is the way to go if you want to overclock.
Otherwise, the revision 1.02 will do.
Feature rich board, and not baddly priced.
My set-up
3500 / 1GB OCZ PC3700 / ASUS A8V rev1.02 / Audigy 2 ZS / 6800GT
PS. its a VIA board

From the reviews I have seen the Asus board doesn't overclock that well & I am sure I read somewhere that the PCI/AGP lock isn't too reliable on the Via based boards

The earlier boards didn't even have the option in the bios, you had to install a 1005 beta bios to enable locks. However, the rev2 board comes with working PCI/AGP locks.
More on forums.overclockers.co.uk about this.
BTW, the Abit AV8 has issues with Antec PSUs and MSI Neo if memory serves me right is fussy about memory (best check the above for more info thou).
Hope that helps, Alex

Are you after S754 or S939?
At the moment, the latest nForce 3 boards seem to be coming out on top for S754. It's a feature rich chipset which is only now being used to its full potential by board manufactures.
One of the best nForce 3 boards for overclocking seems to be the DFI LANParty UT nF3-250Gb. Was only released in the US earlier this month, and I've no idea where to find one in the UK.
I think I'm going to get a S754 board and an Athlon64 soon.
More info:

Socket 754 Roundup, Part 3: Asus, Soltek & DFI
