Hi guys,
I have recently cancelled my 2nd line at home, which was originally my modem line back in the days before broadband.
When ADSL came to our area a couple of years ago I upgraded the line. Never thought to cancel it and have it running on my voice line.
Anyway, as I said I've cancelled my 2nd line and now have my broadband connection on my voice line. I originally had problems with the connection dropping, but this was no doubt because I didn't have filters on the extensions.
Now I have fitted filters to every phone in the house, but the call volume (voice volume, if you know what I mean) has decreased considerably, to the point where I try not to use the home phone as I can hardly hear the caller.
I have tried cleaning my ears out and everything else obvious
but am kind of stumped. Is there anything else I can try, as I'm going to have to get a 2nd line again otherwise.
Thanks,
Simon

How many phone points do you have with phones plugged in? Any other devices (modems, faxes etc.)
Try unplugging all items except one phone (with filter) and see if it improves. This will give a starting point to isolate the problem.

Have you tried switching the filters around to see if it makes any difference?
Or perhaps unplugging all the phones and trying each filter one by one, just to see if one of the filters has gone a bit flakey?
Just a suggestion.
