Default codec issue.

hi all, am trying to watch some southpark episodes burned onto a dvd for me by my friend. I think they are avi files but when playing I an hear the sound but am getting no picture. It says there is an error in the codec but I know not how to sort it.
I have beeb to a few sites and tried to download codecs for wmp,

am guessing I need to go to the divx website now that I think about it.

avicodec from http://avicodec.duby.info/ will tell you what codec a video file is encoded with. Should help you along.
