Why is it, within 4 weeks, Im on my 4th DSL Router

They work fine for a week or two, then internet becomes very intermittent to the point where it becomes unusable

The latest one was on for 5 minutes whilst I setup its IP address etc etc, and it smelt like it had been on fire ?

Its a Linksys Cable DSL, with 8 port switch, now Cisco branded

the previous ones where Linksys but the 4 port ones, and one Belkin 4 port DSL router

Its beginning to p*ss me off now

Anyone any ideas

Mains is fine, and I know its a little warm at the moment, but the first one I had lasted 3.5 years switched on 24/7


which incidently if I leave it off for a week or two, it works fine again for about a week

the new router states the operating temp is 40 degrees
