Hello

The downloads from where? You should be getting around 50kb/s. Go to Microsoft or Macromedia and download a trial of something and see what your average speed is.

Go to http://www.adslguide.org.uk and run their speed test.

If all those turn out at 1.5kb/s then you have a big problem. It is theoretically possible that you are on a heavilty contented exchange, but the problem would be intermittent, not constant.

Steve.

Depends what you're downloading - very popular files etc can easily be that slow.

That makes no sense at all - to display any "new" webpage, your Broadband has to download all the graphics on the page.

So a fast page display means quick downloading.

Try clicking CTRL + ALT + Del and see if the CPU time is jumping up and down even when running with nothing open.

DO the lights next to the Clock on the toolbar flash when you aren't even browsing the net ?
