Default Any MS Office experts out there?

Every time I open a document in word, it alters the date from what the original date was to todays date (if that makes sense);

ie. I've opened a doc I wrote on Friday to print it again, and it's changed the date to the 2nd Aug ie todays date.

any help would be appreciated.

Do you insert the Date as a field? Sounds like Word is auto-updating the field when you re-open the document.

in this instance it's a fax- from on of the MS templates. I'm guessing it is auto-updating, but how do I turn it off?

Thanks for the help,
Simon

You could edit the template and remove the Field. You'd have to enter the date manually into new faxes then though.
