Default quite pc for front room..

building a media centre pc that has to be dead quiet, I know I can go to ebuyer and dabs etc for bits - can anyone recommend a part build/bare bones system with a nice case and silent psu etc ??

Your best bet is one of the Shuttle XPCs. With the fan set on low they are very quiet, and the case is small and looks good in a living room. Several other companies make similar products, like Abit and MSI, but Shuttle are original and best. Not sure where to get them on-line now OcUK seemed to have stopped selling them - they do some others though.

Yes, I have a Shuttle XPC. Very quiet due to the patented heat sink arrangement.

This is the maxpower world of PC's and home builds, but they do silent stuff, they'll give loads of advice, and there is a forum full of max-watt / max-pc chaps that will be really helpful, they have a section dedicated to building silent PC's.
