Help Me Spec a New PC!
Yep my old one had an accident (see smoke!! thread)
So I'm going to get new:
cpu
memory
motherboard
Power
So here goes. Current choice:
CPU: 3.0GHz Intel Pentium® 4 CPU "Prescott" (800FSB) HT 1MB Cache
Motherboard: Abit IC7 Max3 i875P Canterwood 800fsb DDDR400 Gbit Lan 4+2xSATA/133 USB2x8 6Ch Audio Spdif
Power: Hyper Power 420 watt.
Memory: Corsair 3200
So that's my current choice, I looked at the Athlon 64 3200 chip, but on paper it doesn't look as good as the P4. Unless you guys tell me otherwise.
Any suggestions appreciated, otherwise I order this lot at 2pm!
Also where's the best place to buy from, was going to use scan.

I'd stick with the IC7 as it a very good board, swap the Prescott for the Northwood as they run cooler and faster. Thats if you want to stick to the P4 route.
Otherwise go for something like the 939 AMD 64 3500 and put that with Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939. This will be a bit more expensive but comparable speed wise.
Power and memory wise both are fine. What GFX are you running.
