Question Problem with Outlook attachments being sent as winmail.dat files

I'm using Outlook with XP to send emails via my pipex account. If I attach or insert a JPG file the recipient recieves it as a winmail.dat file which can't be opened.

What on earth is happening here?

Cheers

Sal

Had a look at the info in that link, cheers, but most of it's just gone over my head. So, in laymans terms how do I send emails with attachments inserted to users of web based email using my Pipex account via Outlook? At the moment all my recipients are getting is a page of text with a winmail.dat file and no piccies. I used to use Hotmail via Outlook with no such problems.

Could try turning off rich text within Outlook,

Tools - Options - Mail Format !

Set it to plain text, and do not insert pics to the page, do a proper attachment to the mail, as inserting them to a mail causes all sorts of issues.

I am using Outlook XP on XP with a Pipex account and have no problem sending pics as attachments.

If that doesnt work drop me a line and will try some other suggestions.
