Hi all, bit of a strange one.

Upon going to barclaycards website I click on my account but rather than take me to the secure website of my account it loads up ****.

Nice, I hear you say, but it's crap **** and normally crashes the PC, and I do need to look at my account!

If I type in the link I get to the right page. I take it something is hijacking the link????

Cheers,

matt

Doesn't sound too good. As a precaution, have you scanned your PC thoroughly for any nasty spyware / trojan stuff? There is a lot of virus activity at the moment. I would do a full sweep of your PC with your AV software and download Webroot's Spy Sweeper and run a full scan. If that shows up nothing, I would report it to Barclaycard.

So you're going to a Barclaycard website and typing in your account details and this is taking you to a **** Site?

Have you checked your balance recently?

I think you may be a victim of a phishing attack and I would STRONGLY recommend you check your account immediately and get your password details changed pronto.

Not one to be alarmist, but I would be worried about now.

Account balance is fine. Well apart from the things I've bought (like a new kitchen).

You don't get to type in your account details as the link is hijacked before you get to the login screen.

I've run adaware 6 and it removed a few bits and bobs.

this is nothing to do with Barclaycard.

You need spy speeper or a similar program- i had exactly the same thing happening to me.

But your right to be cautious, i work for b'card fraud. just make sure you always have the padlock showing at the bottom right corner!!

AND check the URL of course, seeing a padlock doesn't mean anything, just that you're using secure HTTP. Even bad guys can use secure HTTP!
