I am also running ZoneAlarm.
What does Dialer.9.AJ do? It's not one of those "Premium rate" dialer's is it?
AVG could not heal this & sent it to the AVG Virus Vault.

Whatever it is, it shouldn't be there. Download and run Webroot's Spy Sweeper. Do a full system scan - it should clear it up. If not try Spy Bot. Spy Bot isn't as comprehensive as Spy Sweeper, but it does have a clever DOS mode that can remove programs before they run under windows. It will identify any program that can't be removed and prompt you to reboot the PC, when the DOS remover will run automatically.
If you haven't done so already, get yourself a firewall - Sygate or something similar. Also consider Avast as an alternative to AVG - also free, but I've found it a little better.

Thanks for your input Chris.
I now have the following installed :-
Avast - AVG - Spy Sweeper - Spybot - Ad-Aware - ZoneAlarm & the built in XP firewall.
Spy Sweeper weedled out a few things & Spybot picked up something as well.
ZoneAlarm is throwing up warnings all the time as well as it blocks stuff.
Is there any point in running both Avast & AVG or should I remove the AVG?

Hi Mark
No need to run both AVG and Avast. I just preferred Avast. I've had problems with the updates on AVG on my sister's PC and the last thing you want is AV with out-of-date virus signatures!

Did have problem registering with Avast. Got a "The specified path was not found" when I clicked on Register Program. I will see if I get another prompt to register next time it runs.
Thanks for your help.

I have now managed to register with Avast. :0
Cheers cong I turned off the system restore until after the sweep.
And my "belt & braces" system is in place.I phoned BT & they have put a block on my phone so no premium rate numbers can be dialled either willingly or unbeknown to me.
Let's hope thats an end to it.
