Default BackupExec failing because of corrupt Exchange server messages

Any ideas how I fix / delete the corrupt messages? The exchange server itself works fine - it's just failing my backups. Thanks.

I was getting this on some mailboxes. Happened on a few old ones, so I just archived their mailboxes to PST and deleted them. Re-created and imported the mail back.

Also happened on a few mailboxes that had been deleted the day before. Exchange still had them marked, so I had to do a purge on them to clear them out the Exchange database.

This is running BE 9.1 on a Windows 2003 + Exchange 2003 box.

Our server has been fine since.

Stefan

P.S. Are you using single instance backup for attachments. I think I may have disabled this to test if that was the issue (or not). It could still be disabled, so I'll need to double-check.

Yeah, I still have single-instance disabled. I'm off on holiday for a month so there's no way I'm enabling it until I'm back The lads looking after the system while I'm away would have kittens

Check for any deleted users that still have mailboxes - that will cause errors,

A defrag of the Exchange database can often shake out corrupt and deleted pages that are now blank in the database which cause backup failures. I'd try that first.
