how to tranfer from hard disk??

Default how to tranfer from hard disk??

My PC recently self destructed although the hard disk is ok (Maxtor 20gb). I have a laptop and need to know is it possible to somehow get the info I need off my pc hard disk and onto the laptop. Any help appreciated.

You could plug it into a friend's pc & then burn the files you want onto CD/DVD

Thats the best idea. I would not suggest taking apart the laptop (just in case you thought about that) as they are pigs to take apart and pigs to put back together again.

or buy a hard disk enclosure for £16+vat with USB 2 and 1.1 lead, this can double as a portable disk drive and a backup for you laptop.

Lightning - Cheers m8. What a good idea. Will come in handy as a portable drive also. Take you can get them from Dabs etc

its a guy on scoobynet that lives local up here and if you look at some of the prices for cds and dvds etc you will find them hard to beat for most things.

get your hdd enclosure at www.qtds.com ! only £5.75 for the USB 2.0 2.5inch hdd enclosure. then get the hdd from www.ebuyer.co.uk

You wouldnt fit a desktop HD into a lappy anyway... as others said.. get a USB HD container... well worth the money for sure.

I use two.. easy to swap out an excellent means of security for backups when you hide them amongst your pasta on the top shelf No, I don't hide mine there.. was just a suggestion

God! That means I have 5 hard drives
