FAO DJDunk - Avalaunch and boost..
Hi mate
can't get external email at work so thought i'd ask on here this morning Checked in avalaunch network settings last night and it says boost mode is enabled. Used Qwix to transfer files down to the xbox but it was only doing 540kbs/sec and it took nearly 50 minutes to get the iso I tried down to the drive Works a treat when there but wondered how I can get it to go to the 10,000kbs/sec you mentioned?

Hello Bob
How's it connected up to your PC ? Sounds like wireless speeds ? If its hardwired to a router or such, you should get full speeds I had your xbox connected to my PC and got full speeds, so its all set up.
I did 27Gb in 45 mins on mine

Its going via a bloody long (25 metre) cat5 cable to a 10mbs hub running off a 100mbs router which the pc is connected to. All pcs are connected to the ports on the router and the hub runs off the router so I can plug in the ps2 and xbox.
No other network activity was taking place at time of transfer. Maybe try plugging directly into the router with a shorter cable?
If its not a setting I have missed then I will have a play with varying the cables and ports its plugged into.
The mrs rabbits have nibbled the cat5 cable so may have damaged it but thought it wouldn/'t work at all as opposed to reduced speed if they had actually chewed past the outer coat of the cat5. Wouldn't have thought the length of the cat5 would make that much of a difference either?

Mine was connected straight to my 100mbps router to get those speeds. Over my 11mbps wireless its pretty sloooow. Shouldn't make much difference, but like you say, worth connecting it straight up to see if it makes any difference, could be the hub thats choking it. Let me know how you get on and we'll get it sorted
Glad you're enjoying it, my PS2 still gets used for some games, but not if I can help it

Cheers Dunk, will let you know next week as wont be able to test it till then. PS2 will still be used lots just because of the number of games i've got for it, mainly for my son and also GT3 but think the xbox is miles better now because of all the stuff it can do
Thanks again for your help gettingit all sorted mate.
