Broken Adaptec card ?
Hi peeps,
I've hit a bit of a problem here. Im trying to get out DLT8000 autoloader to work again and it aint working. All was working fine up until last week when the drives started to go offline for no apparent reason.
Looking in the event log I get the following error
Event Type: Error
Event Source: adpu160m
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11
Date: 28/06/2004

User: N/A
Computer: BACKUP
Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Scsi\adpu160m1.
Data:

0030: 00 00 00 00 06 00 00 00 ........
It appears several times so I replaced the card (29160 Adaptec) with a brnad new one but I still get the same error. I have tried updating the drivers but still cant get it to work properly. Has anyone got any ideas on this.
The actual server itself is a Dell PowerEdge 1300 with 512MB RAM and a 9 GB SCSI drive/2940 controller card. Trying to run veritas with the tape unit (It did work for months) Also updated the BIOS to rev A13
Also nothing has really changed software wise. Surely it cant be another faulty card, I mean the chances of that ?
