Question Web Authoring Freeware

My daughter has asked me to find her a good freeware web authoring program for some school, web page homework. She has tried using MS Front page but says its a bit confusing.
Does any one have any good ideas for basic, easy to use programs.

Thanks Dicke C

How about trying a 30 day of Dreamweaver. It will help in the meantime.

Probably the easiest is to use Word and the "save as webpage" tool.

Unless you want her to learn the basics of HTML, in which case, notepad, dreamweaver or frontpage and a good help book/CD to go with it.

The purists would say: "Wordpad"! Personally I have no trouble with Front page. (well, it was free to me!) There used to be a free tool called First Page, but it's not been updated for a while and I'm not sure if you can still get it.
