Sygate firewall question, re port scan attack
Here and there I get this messsage from Sygate firewall.
"Port Scan Attak". "Somebody is scanning your computer.
Your computer's TCP ports:
1025, 445, 3127, 6129 and 135 have been scanned from 62.103.136.22".
Does this mean that sygate has blocked the scan, or has it let it through but is just warning me to let me know that someone is scanning my PC? I have sygate on the normal setting.
Cheers,
George.

Quite common really. The scan is looking at the latest vulnerabilities known - hence the specific ports rather than a general scan. It's good to know the firewall is doing its job.

Me too (or at least similar products). You might want to add SpywareBlaster to that list. Do a search on Google for it. Good little program that stops most of the nasty stuff getting anywhere near your PC. Free aswell.
