I've just networked my laptop to my desktop. When I enable the McAfee firewall on the desktop, I can't connect to the net on the laptop. Also I've installed the AV & Firewall prog onto laptop but it says there are no updates available. Is this 'cos the desktop is the server so everything is running through that, therefore no need to install anything else on laptop ??

just done it yesterda myself......... (i have mcafee)

I just plugged in the crossover cable and instantly had internet access.....?!?!?!

However I did go into utilities - trusted/band ip addresses and enable LAN connection after to allow file sharing...... try that
