Default How do I get Xbox Live?

I have my network setup now, and have the PS2 online and working, so now need to get the Xbox online as well.

I've seen the starter kit for £30, but I dont want the headseat - is there a better way to get hooked up?

Can I ask where you've seen the Live Kit for £30 please?

Am after one at the minute but most places are at £39.99...

A lot of games come with a two month trial, you can use one of those to get on without purchasing the kit. I just gave away my last spare.

How long is it valid for? I got Midtown Madness3 with the 2 month trial at Xmas. I've never used it yet.

You get a years subscription with the headset, so resubscribing will prolly be ~£20/year?

opps found this in the reviews bit on Amazon..

Also it is all well and good now, now that downloads are free and you have your free years subscription but if you wanna keep that gamertag you'll have to renew membership at £40
once they've got you hooked it seems!

Well I was expecting about £10 a month which I thought would be a bit steep, so £40 a year is nowt really.

DW - glad you got the network issues sorted (what were they?)

Try XBox Connect - same as XBox Live, but free.
Also look at X-Link.

Of course, if you get your XBox fettled with, XBox Live will be useless anyway.....

Network issues not fully sorted yet - still have to reset the router when I power the PC up, and VPN's dont work, but at least it works with the PS2 so far - been doing some hellish Tony Hawks'ing last few nights
