Hi peeps,

Ive finally done it. I have got a Xecutor 2.3b for the box and want to know a few things.

Firstly, for downloads etc, people say the "usual places" for downloads, ie latest slayer install etc. Where can I get it.

Also the alternate versions of live, ie you can use backed up cds on them. Except for XBConnect, what other systems exist ?

XBConnect is the most popular, so stick with that one.
Have a look at Xbox Scene for all the info you could possibly need.
The "usual" places people speak of are Bit Torrent/Kazaa/Supanova

On the rare occasions I get to use my XBox online, I prefer to use X-Link on the PC along with boX-Link on my X-Box. New Kai Evo VII version out soon.

The legal situation around some of the s/w is unclear - hence why people are cryptic about how/where to download it. However it is all very freely available. Once you have the software there are some aspects of chipping which whilst not hard are certainly not trivial. I get the impression from several of the Xbox sites that though its sounds harsh - one of the feelings is that if you cant find the info you need to download the s/w - you're unlikey to be able to find the info to make use of it.

I personally cant recommend the tutorial on x-box scene highly enough. Well worth plenty of time to read them and understand the whole process.

Having said that grabbing the slayers disk from a mate/file sharing is just about a fool proof way of getting the s/w done as you could ask for
