Got a sheet that we wish to to copy the data from the sheet to another sheet. Currently using the formula =sheet1!$a$1 next column down is
=sheet1!$a$2. We need to copy the formula with increments of one so it applies to the whole column. Any ideas do-able

take off the lock on the 1 and drag it down.

That what your looking for, or am I missing something?

Thanks all sorted now. Very quick answer as well cheers. Next question is a real long short.....

Is there anyway to copy the colour formating over as well. Guessing this is going to be a no but who knows.

Not certain at all with regard to copying cell colour formatting over, never had need to investigate it I'm afraid so cant rule it out eitherway.

Hobbsy,
If you've just changed the background colour of the cell it should copy across when you copy n paste.
If it's conditional formatting then it should also copy across.

Are you clicking on the cell then doing a copy n paste, or highlighting the formula for the cell and then copy n pasting?

If you remove the $ from the formula, click on the green tick, then click away from the cell you want to copy, then click on it again...now copy n paste to wherever you want and it should retian all the colour formatting, borders, alignment e.t.c. and copy the formula (but also adjust for different cell position)

Tony not quite sure. Sheet 1 is coloured and is the master sheet that data will be changed on. Sheet two we have the formula typed using sum=. Not sure of the green tick bit.

If you click on the cell and then copy n paste it to the new sheet it should carry across the colour and formula
