Question web gurus....help!

OK why is it that I am externally linking a style sheet file to my html file, it looks and behaves exactly as I expect on my local drive, upload it to my webspace and it doesnt work ?!?!!? the line I am using is

<LINK REL=StyleSheet HREF="emedia.css" TYPE="text/css">

checked all the obvious like file exists and file name and case (as its on a linux server) the link tag is in the HEAD section of the HTML, I'm not a complete beginner at HTML but I cant for the life of me work out why it doesnt work when I upload it.

Any suggestions guys???

cheers

Gary

But they are followed by your browser, not your ISPs webserver

It might be cached aggressively by your ISP, address the stylesheet directly in your browser?

Try all the tags in lowercase and surround stylesheet in speechmarks.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="emedia.css" type="text/css">

guys,

thanks for your help, never sorted it, the pages were built using frontpage which is probably the worst piece of software in the world......ever! Doing a simple test page seemed to work ok and I'd done it before so couldnt understand why it didnt work. Anyway reverted back to the original pages that have style info on every page (good old frontpage hey what a class tool!). Also why the f*ck are M$ so arrogant to believe that everything runs on windows?? It capitalised some of the filenames and the links which on the linux server caused a problem, grrrr frontpage!!!!!!
