Question Anyone have a widescreen laptop?

Just ordered a widescreen laptop from work. Does anyone have one? Do you find the extra width much use?

Cheers

Yep PowerBook 17". Bit bulky but great for watching films or running apps where you might want a clear working area with toolbars and pallettes outside the working area like Photoshop or InDesign.

Not a widescreen as such, but my Sony VAIO has the UXGA screen - 1600*1200. It's bigger than most desktop screens and is my development machine of choice. You can see so much more of whatever it is you're working on without having to faff about with overlapping windows if you have more than one app open at the same time.

You can never have too much screen space... the best (desktop) system I ever worked on was a 21" CRT running in 1800*1440 mode. Bliss!

Cheers guys. It's going to be an Dell D800. Pretty good spec and looking forward to the extra screen space. I don't mind scrolling up and down, but left and right can be a pain. And good, as you say, for DVDs

I have a 15.4" Toshiba; its a beautiful quality screen and I dont think that Id like to go back to a 4:3 screen now.
