Please can someone try this site?
I've just moved my pension to a fund service that I can check online. While it was being moved, I changed my Internet connection from Demon dial-up to Demon ADSL. Since the ADSL instalation, I've not been able to access my pension site.
Please could someone try: http://www.transact-online.co.uk
I'd like as many tests as possible please for feedback to both Transact & Demon.
Please try to get to the site twice.
When I connect via my Demon ip address, I cannot get the site at all, it just times out. If I use an annoymous proxy service from cotse.net, I can load the right hand frame, but cannot load the left hand frame, about from the image at the top.
If you have the time, please visit the site, shut your browser & visit it again. Please could you post your result to this thread giving your ISP & connection method? (dial-up, ISDN, ADSL etc.)
Regards
Nick

Nick -
works fine for me - businesssserve 512 ADSL, windows 2000...
Recently I started to having trouble with paypal , I could not get past the front page - after several weeks of headscratching I tried updating windows to the latest service pack - hey presto, no more problems.
I think it was something to do with paypal's encryption, as I had a bog standard W2K install it was not letting me in. With your pension site being finance related it may be a similar problem.
Did you use a setup disc for the ADSL? - it might have changed some settings in IE - perhaps look in advanced options and see if there's anything odd.
cheers,
mike.

Thanks Mike
My Windows is up to date with all the latest updates. I had no setup disk for my ADSL, it uses a router & everything works fine, as does every other site I use. Including Paypal, Ebay & Natwest.

Fine with me, sort of.
I'm using OS X Safari. It wouldn't let me in at first because there is one of those silly browser checkers.
I used the Safari Debug menu so it would appear as Win IE, then tried the site again and it works fine.
Using Mac OSX Panther ver 10.3.3 Safari Ver 1.2.1 Corporate LAN T2

Thanks guys
I could really use some people with problems reaching the site. My Demon ADSL is very recent & has a new previously unused ip block. Demon have suggested that some isps will block unused ips.

...maybe not related, but I had a nightmare getting on scoobynet a while back through my home ADSL - every other site in the world loaded ok, but scoobynet wouldn't, like yours - loads of annoying time-outs,and 404 pages.
In the end, I found some forum advice to do a firmware upgrade and factory reset on the router, no problems since, and a piece of **** to do.

Thanks for your reply
I'm not sure if it's the router. I can partially load the site using an annoymous proxy, but still going through my router. This means, not on my ip, & not using a Demon-Transact route. Therefore it should be something to do with either Transact blocking some Demon routes/ips or Demon routing problems.

Are you running W2000 or XP Nick?
Might be worth running this from a CMD window:
pathping www.transact-online.co.uk
Let it chug away and what that will then show you is if one particular hop on the route to that web site is, erm, 'ucked

Thanks for your reply Chris. I've previously sent a traceroute to both Transact & Demon. The result of the pathping is below:
Transact are unable to ping my router & I'm unable to ping the Transact router.
I've tried to email mnet.net.uk with no response. The traceroute has never got past vlan204.rsm-r-1.lon1.mnet.net.uk but I don't know if this is a Demon or Transact problem.
Does the report give any useful info?
My computer is WinXP Pro, connected to a Win2k server. The router is connected to a 2nd nic in the server.

Nick
