Default Replacing DVD Drive

Bit of advice if you might.

Replacing a reasonably old DVD player on my Bro's PC with a newer 16 speed cos the old one don't work. looking at the labels on the two drives, there are small differences in volts and amps. If I attach the new one and it blows summat up, he will kill me, cos thats what he does....As I get further down the bottle of wine I'm drinking I care less, but reality check.

Do any of you know if I'm on safe or stoney. Very grateful for any help, I mustn't blow anything up!

TIA

Adam

Swapping out a dvd-rom won't blow anything up.

For peace of mind, check the wattage of the PSU. Standard is 350W

The only thing you need to watch is the the master/slave setting. Make sure the new one is the same as the one you take out.
