what email clients are people using at home, apart from MS

What's wrong with Outlook? You could try the free version of Eudora - if you must!

 

The Opera mail client is awful... it is basically plain text so no good if you like jazzing yours up but perfect if you want a straight forward client with no bells and whistles.

I have been using Outlook for years and have never had any problems... did you have a bad experience?

 

Mozilla Thunderbird for me - on my personal email address plus using Hotmail Popper to pick up my...err, Hotmail account.

Reasonable spam filter already built in

managed to get it sorted

was using OE, getting a lot of spam email (virgin) and it was timing out spoke to them and they said it was not their fault it was timing out on retieving mail.

have solved the problem by using mailwasher ,

getting about 70 spams a day (had my main email for over 6yrs now)
