If it's a microsoft operating system, just boot to the CD and when given the option delete the partition.

Would you believe that this confuses me?
I have a second PC running 98SE that needs a squeeky clean install. What's this partition business about?

Think of partitions as rooms on your hard drive. You may have one partition with everything in it or two, one for data one for the operating system. In fact you can have as many as you like, but you have to have one.

When you install a new operating system it will ask which partition you'd like to install to. It will also give you the option of deleting said partition and starting again.

I re-installed 98 without the format, but it still has issues, so i want to do a fresh install. I don't recall it saying anything about partitions
Is it not just a case of making a boot disk (which i need help with too ) and formatting the C drive which i need help with also.

Brun - at being thick
